If you could dream up any garden, what would it look like? It can be simple or elaborate.
Mine would be a half acre garden surrounded by a 8 foot stone wall. The wall would have espalier trees all along it, particularly the northern side and the southern facing side would have vines on it. Inside would be a blend of perennial and annual vegetables, flowers, fruits and herbs. While I’m, dreaming, I’d have a water feature as well.
You just prune/train the trees to grow along a wall. In this case, a south facing stone wall would get direct sun, store energy and release it at night. This would help protect vulnerable fruit trees during the colder winter nights.
